It’s just so cool. I don’t care that it’s got 20 times the power of anything I’ve ever ridden. I don’t care that it will kill me. I mean c’mon it’s a brown V4 80's sport bike. You can’t get any c ooler than that.

Yep. I do wonder if these had the 2nd gear issues like the Magna... seems like you never see a V65 magna with 2nd gear intact for whatever reason.

I had one of these for a couple years when I was in college. The v4 is pretty fun but FYI they have overheating issues when in traffic. There are a lot of diy guides in the forums  for this where you just install a radiator fan switch so you can turn it on earlier while in traffic.

It was that bike’s weak spot.

That and service on the the V65 was an absolute bear.

Cool as hell when they run tho.

my best friend and i went and bought new Hondas in 82, he bought the v45 sabre and after i rode it i wished i had bought one, felt like it was carved out of a single block of metal and excelled at any thing you wanted to do with it. eventually it was a maintenance nightmare though and my FT500 Ascot turned out to be virtually maintenance free, it was a flat track styled 500 single electric start, i bought it as a back road lightweight and it was perfect for that and other than replacing a part on the starter it was traded off 16 years later still in good shape
